Why I like My Caffeine Before Bed.
My daily caffeine is not from Starbucks. But it will super charge you like Starbucks. It’s like a shot of espresso but it’s in a .5 fl oz white tube. It’s like dark magic, but not the dark roast kind; The special optic kind.
If you can spend $2.45, 7 days a week, on a cup of Starbucks, you can drop $37 once for a few months worth of eye cream magic.
If you are 20 or older and you don’t use an eye cream, you are stupid. Just had to say it. Dudes, you too.
I have tried many an eye cream, from Dermalogica’s to MAC and some in between. My favorite for a few years now, still remains to be MAC’s Fast Response Eye Cream. It works exactly how it says it does. Fast. That’s one of my favorite things about it. I was first introduced to this saving grace by MAC Senior Artist, Keri Blair, when I was 18 at MAC Pro NYC. I took her word for it, because why wouldn’t I? She is awesome. And she didn’t steer me wrong. Fast Response will always have a special place in my makeup bag (aka my heart).
Fast Response’s key ingredient is caffeine. It is going to de-puff you, firm you, soothe you, soften you, and trick the world into thinking you are bright eyed and bushy tailed when really, you were out the night before, got 1 hour of sleep, and are still toting mascara from last night too. Straight magic.
It will make your skin feel velvety smooth thanks to its silicone-y texture. This also means it serves as an awesome primer for your under eye concealer.
Since this product works supa fast, it really is a quick fix for the AM when you rise and look tired as F. Keep it under your pillow, on your night stand. Put it on ASAP. So, yes, use it in the morning. BUT! My favorite way to use this product, and the way I personally see the best results, is when I use it at night, before I hit the hay. I really make sure I do this when I just had a late night, and have an early morning, when I cried that night, and if I went too ham on salty foods. Basically, I not only use Fast Response as a fast, quick fix, but also as a preventative measure. But isn’t that what eye cream is suppose to be? That’s why everyone needs an eye cream! PREVENTION. Keep that skin in check!
There’s nothing better than waking up in the morning and not looking like you just woke up. I hate that puffy eyed, tired eyed feeling. No puffiness and none of the darkness that you anticipated. Seriously. It is tried and true for me. How do you think I still manage to look good for brunch on Sunday when hours before I was shooting whiskey? I arguably could have been the most drunk the night before, but girl, I sure as hell look the most alive the next day.* *(Disclaimer: Feeling alive and looking alive are 2 different things. Again, trickery. Again, straight magic. Continuing to drink at brunch is the best way to avoid hangover.) If I wanted to eat 3 double cheeseburgers and a large Mickey D’s fry at midnight, wake up at 6, I might be severely bloated, but my eyes won’t be.
In conclusion, buy this. And use it as I have directed. Night time for sure. Night and day if you really want to reap the benefits. Who knew caffeine before bed could be so magical?
